If Turning On a Kindle Could Crash an Airplane, Wouldn't Terrorists Do It?

I've been wondering this myself...

From Michael Rivero:

"Actually, Mythbusters did a show on this very idea and even used a high-powered linear amplifier to boost the signals from the portable electronic devices and could not detect any effect on the aircraft instruments. As this article correctly points out, if the signals from cell phones could actually damage a plane, some idiot would have already tried using it as a threat. The airlines (like the TSA) do what they do to prove they are in control of you. One of the reasons my wife and I are moving back to the mainland is so we can drive where we need to go and not have to bother with airplanes and TSA any more."
