I wholeheartedly agree with what Olberman was saying.
Our nation was founded by rebels. We do not have (what's left of our) freedom and democracy because of our politicians. It has always been the people who have stood up and forced the government to abide by our demands. Look at the American Revolution, abolition, women's suffrage, labor laws, civil rights legislation, the end of the Vietnam War. All of these things were possible because the people stood up to the tyrannical government. Unfortunately we have become complacent since the anti-Vietnam & civil rights movements faded away in the 1970s and now look what we have. They have a forty year head start. There's a lot of problems in America and we are all to blame. We've got a lot of catching up to do.
