Football Clubs to Mark 1914 Christmas Truce

Link to article

This is awesome.  Good for these European football clubs for organizing this and shedding light on a piece of history that many are unaware of.  The truth of the matter is that war is fought for the benefit of the elite at the expense of the poor.  The British, French, and German troops who climbed out of the trenches in the Great War to play a football match in "no man's land" prove that the ones who do the fighting have no gripe with the other side in many cases.

Unfortunately "enemies" that look different than us (i.e. Arabs in the War on Terror, Africans in the War on Terror, Asians in World War II and the Cold War, etc.) are more easily demonized and propaganda works its charm in those instances.
