Obama Lawyers: Citizens Targeted If At War with US

Link to article

This is the legalese I am talking about! It's not even the Peace President that you should be worried about. This bill would give ALL FUTURE presidents the ability to do this. Imagine Hillary with this power? Imagine Romney or Perry?

If you think this is only going to be used by presidents to target literal terrorists running around with guns who are shooting at our troops, then you are a fool. The following is a quote from the New York Times (9/28/03) regarding the PATRIOT Act:

"The government is using its expanded authority under the far-reaching law to investigate suspected drug traffickers, white-collar criminals, blackmailers, child pornographers, money launderers, spies and even corrupt foreign leaders, federal officials said."
This has nothing to do with terrorism and is merely a stripping of the Bill of Rights.  Gone is Habeas Corpus, a provision dating back to Magna Carta (1215) that ensures a person has the right to a speedy trial.  Gone are the rights to innocent until proven guilty, a trial by a jury of peers, the protection from illegal searches and seizures...
It does not even matter if the NDAA passes or not because, according to the Peace President's lawyers, the executive branch already has the legal authority to assassinate American citizens.  Guantanamo Bay is evidence that the executive branch believes it also has the right to torture and detain suspected "enemy combatants" and deny them the right to a civilian trial.
