Ron Paul vs. Michele Bachmann On Iran - Fox Iowa Debate 12-15-11
To my liberal friends who are scared that Dr. Paul would transform the U.S. into a super conservative nation - listen to his words. He states his point of view, but he has repeatedly insisted that the president can not push his ideology without the consent of Congress and the Supreme Court. The only real change you would see under a Paul Administration is a reduction of troop presence (as Commander in Chief he has that power) and a roll back of executive power that has steadily increased over the past century. I think we can all agree those would be significant accomplishments.
For those of you who are afraid of his economic policies because you think it would benefit the filthy rich - follow the money. Ron Paul has run a largely grass roots campaign. Most of his campaign contributions come from individuals and are, therefore, generally small. If his policies would benefit the Wall Street crooks or major corporations, why are they not coming out to support him? As a side note, Obama received more contributions from Wall Street than McCain in 2008 and has received more than all the GOP candidates this time around. Obama was elected in 2008 & might win again in 2012 because he is the Wall Street candidate of choice.
So 2012 is actually pretty simple. If you want perpetual war, the continuing power grab by the executive, and a cut back on our liberties (to keep us safe of course!) then vote for Romney, Gingrich, Obama, or whoever else. If you want an end to war and a re-balancing of power between the three branches then vote for Dr. Paul.
