RP Supporter Chairman of Belfast Maine Caucus Calls State GOP to Confirm Vote Tally

Link to article

"I served as the Chairman of my Caucus in Belfast and I just called the State office to make sure they had the numbers from Belfast and the number they had wasn't not even close to the actually vote [sic]. They said that Romney won, when in fact Ron Paul won.

This is happening all over Maine."
To be fair...I am not 100% certain this is true, but after digging around a bit, Matt McDonald seems to be a real person and this type of stuff has been going on in all the other caucuses so I'm willing to bet it is genuine.

It'll be interesting to see if Charlie Webster, the Maine GOP chair, gives in to pressure and changes the rules so that Washington County is allowed to have their caucus. Their caucus was postponed due to the threat of snow and they missed the 2/11 deadline. I haven't found anyone who has taken responsibility for the cancelling of the caucus (they ended up getting a few inches and the Girl Scouts were still able to hold their event in the county!). Chris Gardner, the Washington County GOP chair, seems bewildered that his county will not count.
