There's some days when I'm ashamed of being an American. Today is one of those days. Three election-related stories brought me down...
Scott Walker Survives the Wisconsin Recall.
Really?!? I find this hard to believe, but we can not prove anything because the recall was done on electronic voting machines and we know what they are capable of accomplishing. Also, it was reported last night that Tom Barrett (Walker's contender) conceded BEFORE all the votes were counted and while some were still waiting in line to vote! With opponents like Barrett, who even needs elections?!? Just pay someone a lot of money to put an R or D after their name (whatever you are not) and have them run a "campaign" in which they pretend to care for the people until the 11th hour when instead of pushing harder for a victory, he/she admits defeat before even stepping onto the proverbial field. Which leads me to stories number 2 and 3.
Barack Obama vs. Mitt Romney.
This is as good as we can do?
If you voted for Obama in 2008 I will give you the benefit of naivete, but there is no way in hell any intelligent person should push the button next to his name in 2012. Why? Because he is either a hypocrite, a liar, or a puppet and we should not settle for any of those. A constitutional law professor should not rip apart the Bill of Rights out in the open. He is an insult to this country and, for that, he deserves a long term employment making license plates next to his kind.
As for Romney - how does he exist? Why is he getting so much coverage? NO ONE seems to like him, including the GOP, and yet he is the presumptive nominee. He is a joke and if anyone you know is leaning towards Romney because "he's better than Obama" then they are no better than those who voted for Obama in 2008.
The Five Top Ironies of Obama's First Term
Mitt Romney Attended Bilderberg 2012?
Obama or Romney? Either way we are screwed. It's just a matter of whether we want to be screwed overtly or by stealth...
I am not ashamed of my country because I am anti-American or unpatriotic. I am ashamed because I know we can do better than this. I am ashamed because if everyone thought like the people in this group then we would have REAL Change(tm). Sure we disagree politically, but we agree on one very important point. This democratic-republic is supposed to be run by We the People. The realization that it is not frustrates me...
