An All-American Nightmare

Link to article

"The president, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, has made it clear that no further investigations or inquiries will be made into America’s decade of torture. His Justice Department failed to prosecute a single torturer or any of those who helped cover up evidence of the torture practices. But it did deliver a jail sentence to one ex-CIA officer who refused to be trained to torture and was among the first at the CIA to publicly admit that the torture program was real."

This is what you do as Time's Person of the Year.

Holder: Justice to Drop Investigations Into CIA Officials Invovled in Torture

Link to article

Nothing to see here...move along.

The Just-us Department also dropped charges in a huge white slavery ring involving billionaire CEOs (I have to recall the specifics to provide a link) and an investigation into financial fraud at Goldman Sachs.

This is why voting for Obama will not suffice in 2012.  He represents a continuation of Bush-era policies of protecting government "officials" and the elite.

"Guantanamo remains open. Other torture prisons expanded. Every major promise made was broken. Wars rage without end. New ones are planned. Killing like sport continues daily."

Khalid Sheikh Mohammad Trial: 9/11 Mastermind Back Before Guantanamo Bay Judge

Link to article

Wow.  Very interesting choice of words, Mr. Fox!

KSM has been tortured and has seen his children tortured in front of him.  He confessed to planning to blow up a building that wasn't built until after he was imprisoned!  He is an alleged mastermind based on confessions extracted via torture.

Osama bin Laden Raid Wasn't Based on CIA Torture Interrogations, Senators Say

Link to article

Well #1, Navy SEALS did not kill OBL last spring.  Secondly, torture techniques are not reliable because under such duress, a prisoner would theoretically say whatever it takes to free him/her from the psychological or physical pain.

This is the democracy we have brought to Libya.  What do you expect when the government is run by al Qaeda sympathizers?

Ex-CIA Officer Charged With Leaking Information to Journalists

Link to article

From Naomi Wolf: "this is so so so bad. This agent spoke up against the torture he knew about and they are using the espionage act against him - a fascistic use of the espionage act (which has not been used until recently since the teens of the last century) to quell dissent and whistleblowing that sadly End of America predicted..."

My Guantanamo Nightmare

This is why we have due process and this is why you can not deny due process to anyone, even the (supposed) worst of the worst.

Michele Bachmann: Waterboarding Is 'Uncomfortable,' But It Would Be 'Absurd' to Have the President Try It

Link to article

Waterboarding does not produce any actual information. Studies have shown that people will say anything just to stop the pain. Also, America is sending a message to our enemies that it's ok to do the same to our young kids captured in battle.

I also find it funny that Bachmann is calling herself "president" already.
