Ron Paul New Hampshire Debate Highlights

You hardly hear any politicians from either side of the aisle speak like this man.  He is not afraid to speak his mind and call out the hypocrisy in our political system.

Highlights for those of you who don't want to sit through the whole video:

After not apologizing for calling Gingirch a "chickenhawk:" "I think people who don't serve when they could...have no right to send our kids off to war...I'm trying to stop the wars, but at least I went when they called me up." (6:35)

In response to Gingrich claiming he couldn't serve because he was married and had a child: "I need one quick follow up.  When I was drafted I was married and had two kids and I went." (8:30)  BOO YAH! :-)

On state regulation of contraceptives: "I think the Fourth Amendment is very clear.  It's explicit in our privacy.  You can't go into anyone's house and look at what they have or their papers or any private things without a search warrant.  This is why the PATRIOT Act is wrong because you have a right of privacy by the Fourth Amednment." (11:53)

On foreign policy: "Yes, the president is the commander in chief, but he's not the king.  That's why we fought a revolution...We would have saved ourselves a lot of grief if we only had gone to war in a proper manner...Elect congressmen and senators to make a declaration of war and then we become the commander in chief and we make these decisions..Now they want to move on Syria and there's some in Washington that can't wait until they start bombing Iran.  We have to change this whole nature." (14:50)

On what he would be doing if he wasn't running for president: "I'd be home with my family, but if they all went to bed I'd probably read an economic textbook." (18:10) HAHA! :-)

More Highlights:

"I think this whole discussion so far has been superficial and I think the question in the way that you asked it is superficial." (0:32)

"I don't see how we can have anybody really compete with Obama who doesn't challenge this huge empire we have overseas and this overseas spending. This is how empires come down." (0:55)

Santorum: "The problem is what Congressman Paul can do as commander in chief is he can on day one do what he says he wants to do - which is pull all of our troops back overseas, put them here in America...The problem with Congressman Paul is all the things that Republicans like about him he can't accomplish and all the things that they're worried about he'll do day one....and that's the problem." (4:10) And that's why the American people vote for him, Rick! :-)

"One group isn't entitled to take something from somebody else. The basic problem here is there's a lot of good intention to help poor people, but guess who gets the entitlements in Washington? The big guys, the rich people - they run the entitlements system - the military-industrial complex, the banking system - those are the entitlements we should be dealing with." (8:30)
