John, Ana Canaday Claim JP Morgan Chase Called Them 75 Times a Week

"his is the second time in a month that JPMorgan has been accused of mistreating its elderly customers. In Louisiana, a man with Alzheimer's sued the bank after his legal guardian claimed that a JPMorgan employee stole more than $100,000 dollars from the elderly man.
Of couse, JPMorgan Chase isn't the first bank to take heat over wrongfully harassing its customers. Bank of America allegedly called one family more than 400 times demanding they pay a debt that had already been settled, according to AOL Daily Finance. BofA also allegedly threatened a quadriplegic man with foreclosure and eviction over a 10 year period."

First the LIBOR scandal (or the mortgage backed securities scandal or the S&L scandal or...), now another big bank exposed in the laundering of drug and terror money. All the more reason to open a small bank or credit union account.

The Mafia Has Nothing on Wall Street Banks
Link to article
"We have arrived at a terrible place. The government no longer exists for the people, but to prey on the people. Petty crimes without victims are cracked down upon with police state brutality. Corporations, banks in particular, are calling all the shots, and they openly defy a legal system that no longer applies to them.
To make it worse, the corporations are being run by insane gamblers who seem determined to destroy everything in order to satisfy their gambling fix.
Things are so broken that comparisons to the late Roman Empire no longer seem like hyperbole. The system is long past the point of being able to fix itself. No amount of regulators will change things if the regulators won't uphold the law. No amount of fines will change things if the fines are only token amounts, without prosecutions. Only a determined, global, grassroots movement willing to defy police repression can change the system.
Unfortunately I just don't see it happening."

How to Start a Revolution: Learn From Iceland!
This is how you do it! Iceland went from a nation crumbling under ridiculous debt created by fraudulent banksters and their cronies in parliament to a recovering, strong, democratic nation in a matter of a few years. And it was all done peacefully!
As a added side bonus - Birgitta Jonsdittor, who is featured in the interview midway through, was a partner in Chris Hedges' lawsuit against Obama and the DoJ regarding the NDAA because, as she mentions, the Icelandic protesters who demanded political and economic change were listed side by side with al Qaeda in UK terrorist watch lists!

The Banker's Job

"Don't lose my money."
If we still had Glass-Steagal, criiminals like Jamie Dimon would not be able to lose our money because JP Morgan Chase would be a commercial bank and not an investment bank. The repeal of Glass-Steagal, under the Clinton administration, gave banksters free reign to steal and, most often, lose our money in foolish, risky investments.

Athens Protests: Lawmakers Prepare to Endorse Austerity Measures on Greece
Link to article
"As MPs prepared to vote on an EU/IMF bailout to save Greece from a messy bankruptcy, buildings nearby were engulfed in flames and huge plumes of smoke rose in the night sky.
Youths fought with police outside parliament for hours. Legislators are hoping to secure the deeply unpopular multi-billion-euro bailout and avert what Prime Minister Lucas Papademos warned would be 'economic chaos.'"
The longer the Greek government continues propping up the budget with loans from the European Central Bank and others, the worse Greece's debt will be. The people know that. The bailouts are hugely unpopular and yet the Greek government is colluding with the EU to screw the Greek people further. To top it off, Athens is the historical origins of democracy which makes this crisis ironic.

10 Things That Every American Should Know About the Federal Reserve
Link to article
#11 - The Federal Reserve Act was drafted in secret by a cabal of the leading bankers of the 1910s (Google Jekyll Island). When they failed to get it passed through Congress after it was introduced by Senator Nelson Aldrich (a Republican who had close ties with the banking industry), the bankers pushed it through Senator Robert Owen (a Democrat) while writing deceptive op-eds criticizing the bill they wrote!

Ron Paul New Hampshire Debate Highlights
You hardly hear any politicians from either side of the aisle speak like this man. He is not afraid to speak his mind and call out the hypocrisy in our political system.
Highlights for those of you who don't want to sit through the whole video:
After not apologizing for calling Gingirch a "chickenhawk:" "I think people who don't serve when they could...have no right to send our kids off to war...I'm trying to stop the wars, but at least I went when they called me up." (6:35)
In response to Gingrich claiming he couldn't serve because he was married and had a child: "I need one quick follow up. When I was drafted I was married and had two kids and I went." (8:30) BOO YAH! :-)
On state regulation of contraceptives: "I think the Fourth Amendment is very clear. It's explicit in our privacy. You can't go into anyone's house and look at what they have or their papers or any private things without a search warrant. This is why the PATRIOT Act is wrong because you have a right of privacy by the Fourth Amednment." (11:53)
On foreign policy: "Yes, the president is the commander in chief, but he's not the king. That's why we fought a revolution...We would have saved ourselves a lot of grief if we only had gone to war in a proper manner...Elect congressmen and senators to make a declaration of war and then we become the commander in chief and we make these decisions..Now they want to move on Syria and there's some in Washington that can't wait until they start bombing Iran. We have to change this whole nature." (14:50)
On what he would be doing if he wasn't running for president: "I'd be home with my family, but if they all went to bed I'd probably read an economic textbook." (18:10) HAHA! :-)
More Highlights:
"I think this whole discussion so far has been superficial and I think the question in the way that you asked it is superficial." (0:32)
"I don't see how we can have anybody really compete with Obama who doesn't challenge this huge empire we have overseas and this overseas spending. This is how empires come down." (0:55)
Santorum: "The problem is what Congressman Paul can do as commander in chief is he can on day one do what he says he wants to do - which is pull all of our troops back overseas, put them here in America...The problem with Congressman Paul is all the things that Republicans like about him he can't accomplish and all the things that they're worried about he'll do day one....and that's the problem." (4:10) And that's why the American people vote for him, Rick! :-)
"One group isn't entitled to take something from somebody else. The basic problem here is there's a lot of good intention to help poor people, but guess who gets the entitlements in Washington? The big guys, the rich people - they run the entitlements system - the military-industrial complex, the banking system - those are the entitlements we should be dealing with." (8:30)

Occupy Oakland Protesters Deposit Funds at Wells Fargo After Bank Attacks
Link to article
This is what makes me cringe about the Occupy movement. Why would they make such a boneheaded move? This doesn't sound right.

This is immoral on so many levels. Not only are these protesters supposedly against the big banks, but Wells Fargo admitted in 2008 that they failed to report money laundering from Mexican drug cartels (over $375 billion that helped to ship 20 tons of cocaine into the US) & then brushed it under the rug.
